Here's a pic of the BSB:

(Unfortunately the wife's camera was refusing to focus on the Lion chariot, probably due to the lighting in the room).
As with pretty much all the models I'm taking to the Incursion, he's by no means finished (hence the lack of any static grass on the base), but should be good enough for the day. If I have the time before I go I might do a bit more on him but its doubtful at the moment.
Again, as with a few of the models I've painted over the past couple of months, especially the various horses and lion chariot, as I was most of the way through painting him I found a few mould lines I missed.
Originally I wasn't planning on building this guy for the Incursion - I was just going to drill a hole in the base of my Korhil model and stick a bit of brass rod in and use him as a temporary BSB but when I was having difficulty getting hold of my friend Andy who I'd leant my hobby drill and bits to, I decided to build this guy as a failsafe and then decided to carry on and finish him.
Had I known I'd end up painting him I'd probably have tried to put some thought into the colour scheme on the banner and shield beforehand, specifically with regard to how to paint yellow. Basically I've used Sunburst Yellow and it just doesn't look that good on the model (it might look a bit better in this pick than it does in the flesh). I'm not sure if I managed to contaminate the paint I was mixing on my palette or not but it doesn't look as yellow as it does in the pot.
I'm also kicking myself for having to fall back on using the dark blue as the outer colour on the banner - again it probably looks better in this photo as there's more light on it (you can also differentiate the difference in the shades on the phoenix on the banner a lot better in the pciture) but if I'd been planning in advance I'd probably have done something different and lighter.
