Just a quick update...
So, recently went to the Milton Keynes Massacre, which was a 1 day, 1600 point tournament (battle report up
here). Fortunately due to the points level it didn't require any additional painting other than the usual quick check over of the metal models (although a couple managed to get chipped somewhere along the way) and just the borrowing of a model to stand in for an Eagle.
What's next on the agenda? Well, originally I'd planned to go to the Mansfield Maul but with my money situation at the moment I'm probably going to have to leave any more tournaments until after Christmas.
Painting-wise the new revised, honest-to-goodness, will be stuck to plan, is to try and work up the Sword Masters and Sea Guard I'm currently working on to finished status. At the moment I'm working on this during lunch, so progress is going in fits and starts (some bits seem to take forever no matter how many times I do them, others seem to go about ten times quicker the second time I do them). I'm hoping that when we start tidying up the lounge, hopefully in time for my daughter's first birthday party, I'll find the piece of paper I wrote down my painting recipes on I used for my White Lions as I'm trying to do two different hair colours with my elves so it makes for a bit of variety on the models.
At home, on the odd occasion I get a chance to do anything hobby related, the plan to to get on with making up my scenery (especially before I get the missus to buy me any more as Christmas or birthday presents... extremely tempting though it is to say "put the Garden of Morr kit on the list") and cleaning up other models ready for painting at some point in the future.
With the money situation as it is at present I'm going to be resisting the urge to buy any more models (at least until GW get round to releasing Great Eagles in finecast). I also hope to get round to taking my Storm of Magic book out of the cellophane at some point and read through that.
